Department of Education, Government Johnson College was introduced in the year 1993. At present the faculty consists of five Associate Professors. The academic condition in terms of quality of faculty and learning transfer process is healthy and adequate.

The Department of Education, GJC Khatla, is one of the oldest departments of the college which was established in the year 1993. The department offers three (3) years B.A spreading over six (6) semesters. A good amount of students passed out every year.

One of the remarkable achievements of the Department is that for the first time the department could have one University Rank Holder namely Christina Vanlalpeki, 3^rd rank holder during 2013-2014 academic session.
